The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering of PES Institute of Technology and Management, Shivamogga, organized a 4-day VTU-VGST sponsored Faculty Development Program on “PCB Process Automation” in association with Industrial partner Alpha Imager from 24th June 2015 to 27th June 2015.

In the inaugural address, the chief guest of the occasion, Mr. Thiyagarajan, Managing Director, Alpha Imager Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, said that India’s electronics import will reach $ 400 billion by 2020, and hence Electronics manufacturing industry in India needs to grow at a much faster pace to meet this huge requirement. Therefore, it is expected that designing and manufacturing sector of electronics equipments in India will create a huge employment opportunities for skilled engineers in future.

Presiding over the function, Smt. Arunadevi, Joint Secretary of the engineering college, stressed upon the need for faculties to equip themselves to nurture the students with practical aspects of engineering and prepare the students to compete in the global market.
