A technical talk on “GETTING EMPLOYABLE AND STAYING EMPLOYABLE” is held on 10 – 03 – 2017. The talk is arranged by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, P.E.S. Institute of Technology & Management in the main seminar hall. The students, staff of Engineering and Diploma courses have attended the programme.

Mr. G.V. Dasarathi, Director of CADEM Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore, is the main resource person who shared his in depth knowledge and experience. He also highlighted the important skills and expertise required for becoming employable. He discussed various issues pertaining to psychological and societal constraints and also thrown light on overcoming them.

Mr. Dasarathi also stressed on the need for inculcating rules like “Aim for satisfaction not for happiness”, “Learn to work with your hands” as well as “soft skills are as important as has skills”. Creative satisfaction, self learning, joy of giving, inter and intra personal relationships are some of the topics discussed in the talk.

In the present market scenario, a graduate engineer needs to develop communication skills along with the technical skills. He needs to have good fluency in English language . Mr. G.V. Dasarathi mentioned the importance of ability to work in diverse teams.

Dr. Basavarajappa Y.H. delivered welcome address. Prof Gowtam J K introduced the resource person and Mr. Ashok R. Banagar proposed vote of thanks.
