The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a 2 days Industrial visit of Ace Components and BSNL RTTC, Mysore on13th& 14th April 2018, faculty and students from 8th Semester participated in the programme.

The program was organized under the guidance of Mr. Sukumar, Manager. The Students were accompanied by Mr Shivaprasad B.K, Mr.Vishwanath Muddi and Mr. Yogeesha G. Asst Prof. of Electronics and Communication Engineering department, PESITM.

The ACE components Pvt. Ltd. located in Industrial Estate, Mysore. The plant specialized in manufacturing of carbon and metal resistors. Ace resistors are tested for application requirements and relevant material and international standards. All processes from order processing to delivery is fully automated to ensure error free and efficient handling of all orders and certified to ISO 9001:2000 standards. A motivated multi skilled workforce with average experience of more than 15 years’ work on a Toyota Production Line model ensuring shortest delivery of complete orders with varied product mix.

We visited following labs at RTTC,BSNL Mysore

  • Digital Switching Lab
  • Broadband Lab
  • OFC Lab (Optical Fiber Communication Lab)

We visited OFC(Optical Fiber Connection) lab ,there we came to know the knowledge of working of OFC system, we came to know how the converting of electrical signal into optical signal is done, like this we got to know there use of unlimited bandwidth for the system.

Dr. D. K. Patil with co ordinator of switching lab, In switching lab there we came to know the switching process for networking, then we were shown the cupboard having several frames & their working

Later after that we visited the underground cable lab here we were given a very good introduction about how the connection is done ,what type of material they use for different type of soil ,there estimate for these connection is near about 20,000 to 25,000 for only one land line connection. So it was very nice experience to know about landline connection
