About ME
Mechanical Engineering (ME) is a very broad field that provides opportunities for interesting and challenging work in every phase of modern technology.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2010 with the vision of attracting, rewarding and retaining outstanding faculty and staff who will ever provide an educational experience that prepares students for successful careers in Mechanical Engineering professions. The Department is housed in an independent block and is replete with state-of-the art laboratories and is always striving to become better with the plans to establish research centers to promote research and development activities.
The Department has received approval for increase in intake from 60 to 120 from AICTE, New Delhi starting from the academic year 2013-14.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO)
Mechanical Engineering is a wide assortment that incorporates skills and expertise need in the industries. Bachelor’s program in Mechanical Engineering is aimed at preparing graduates who will
- Be able to apply their Mechanical Engineering knowledge to solve the identified technical and societal problems.
- Work effectively in a team or lead multiple teams while exhibiting interpersonal and management skills with ethical responsibilities.
- Be able to become entrepreneur and innovator to analyze the real-world problems and develop the system and services that provide economically feasible and acceptable solutions
Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
- Graduates shall be able to apply the knowledge of mechanical courses for developing efficient mechanical systems.
- Graduates shall be able to analyze, interpret and provide feasible solutions to multidisciplinary engineering and societal problems.
- Graduates will have ability to lead the team in industries and business enterprises.
Program Outcomes (POs)
- Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization for the solution of complex engineering problems.
- Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
- Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
- Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
- Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.
- The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
- Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
- Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
- Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
- Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with the society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
- Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

The Department has formed a student forum “AIMS” (Association of Innovative Mechanical Students) with the objective to develop the overall skills of every student of the department through active participation. To achieve this objective, the forum organizes talks given by expert lecturers, industrial visits, project exhibition and more which in turn increases the sense of co-operation among the students, faculty and administration.
