Study of all diploma streams demands basic knowledge of mathematics and ignoring these subjects never make a perfect engineer. The department of Basic Science and Humanities is the backbone of all programs in diploma courses. It is in fact supported efficiently by providing quality training in mathematics and humanities. Presently the department functions with 4 teaching faculties. All the faculties are involved in teaching for different disciplines like Engineering Mathematics, Statistics and Analytics, Communication Skills, Technical Kannada, Kali Kannada and Environmental Science. The department is also responsible for playing a vital role in the development of communication skills of the students, which is an important aspect to work in industries
The Statistical lab is an explorative and interactive toolbox for statistical analysis and visualisation of data. It supports educational applications of statistics in business administration, economics, social sciences and humanities. Lab has computer systems with Open Office and Python 3.7 as per the academic requirement.

Communication Skill Lab improves skills in formal and informal ways. It enables the students to expedite the process of improving LSRW skill, interpersonal skill, and business communication.
This lab introduces the Theoretical and Practical aspects of op –amp which are the basics of linear integrated circuits Experiments are carried out for the parameters and their applications such as amplifiers, IC 555 Timers. Oscillators, Rectifier, Filters. In this lab IA, LD Labs will be conducted.
