One day university level workshop about Road-safety and first-aid at the time of accident was conducted by Indian Red Cross Organisation Shimoga Branch, Shimoga in association with Kuvempu University on 17th February 2017 at Ambedkar Bhavan Shimoga. On occasion Sri Basrur Rajeev Shetty, President Indian d cross organization, Karnataka Branch, Sri Annappa Gasthi, Nodule Officer, youth red cross, Kuvempu university, Sri Ashwathnaranaya Shetty, President Indian Red cross Organisation, Shimoga, and Sri Shivaraj Patil, Joint director, District transport Department, Shimoga as address the function.
3 technical sessions were held. The first session was taken up by Shivraj Patil, Joint director, District transport Department, Shimoga, wherein he addressed the students about traffic rules and the need to follow the rules in order to have accident free roads.
The second session was presided over by Dr. Kumar V L S, Shimoga, who explained about precautions to be followed by person when an accident happens and how to render first aid.
Ten students of PESIAMS College along with the Youth Red Cross Wing Programme Officer participated actively in the workshop.
