The independent submission of social and ecological responsibility of organizations is called Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Social Responsibility is basically a concept where by institutions decide voluntarily to contribute uplifting the society for better environment. Social responsibility is an integral part of everybody’s life. Hence the Institution has taken step to imbibe these responsibilities into the students mindset. Therefore the institution decided to establish Corporate Social Responsibility Wing of PESIAMS during the academic year 2021-22 with due approval from its Governing Council with the following objectives:

Objectives:

• To provide a neutral and credible platform to all its volunteers engaged in CSR best practices for capturing relevant issues to foster sustainable growth.
• To facilitate exchange of experiences and ideas among students for developing a framework for strengthening of CSR indicatives.

• To create an environment where in students will embrace responsibilities to serve the Institution and society at large.

CSR at PESIAMS

Corporate Social Responsibility of the Institution is planned to organize the following activities to enhance the civic sense and responsibility.

• Development of Ayurvedic Botanical Garden in college campus.
• Providing support to circular and extra circular activities to expand Govt. school students and children of slum area.
• Enacting Street-plays providing awareness on various social evils. .
• Providing awareness to students and partnering with Shimoga Traffic Police.
• Serving Orphanage and old age homes members.

Composition of the Corporate Social Responsibility Wing

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinator conducts the meeting for the composition of the Corporate Social Responsibility Advisory Committee.
2. Chairperson, Coordinator and members of the wing select the student members.
3. Coordinator in discussion with HOD’s and class-teacher selects the volunteers for CSR Wing and same will be take approval from Chairperson during the meeting. Selected volunteers will actively participate in all the activities organized by the CSR Wing.
4. Coordinator and members will prepare the action plan for the year and convey the Advisory Committee meeting to finalise the activities to be conducted.
5. Coordinator will maintain the Corporate Social Responsibility wing records, reports, documents and submits the Annual activity report to the Chairperson.

Standard Operating procedure (SOP):

1. Coordinator, Members of Advisory Committee and students’ members will plan the list of the activities to be conducted in an academic year.
2. Coordinator will take formal permission from Chairperson to execute the plan of activities.
3. Coordinator will notify the activities to the volunteers through the circular and encourages maximum participation in all the activities.
4. Coordinator ensures all the activities should be executed as decided and incorporated in calendar of event of the institution/as decided in the meeting.
5. Coordinator will take feedback of each activity from its members and volunteers organized by the wing to know the quality of the activity organized and if required, to enhance the quality of the activities organized under the wing.
