The role played by Indian Red Cross Society in saving valuable human lives is commendable lauded Dr. R Nagaraja, Chief Coordinator of Administration, PES Trust ® while by inaugurating the one day Intercollegiate workshop on ‘First Aid and The importance of Blood Donation’ for Kuvempu University Degree students organized by the Red Cross Wing of PESIAMS College  on 19-01-2018. He further traced the history of Red Cross Society from its humble beginnings and its role in inspiring noble value of inculcating selflessness among the student community.

Dr. Appanna M Gasti, YRC Nodal Officer, Kuvempu University who was the chief guest on the occasion advised the students to develop virtues of social service and philanthropy in them.

The chief resource person of the workshop Dr. V.L.S Kumar expressing his deep concern and anguish over the increasing incidents of crime rate as well as accidents in Shivamogga district, stressed the importance of how timely first aid provided to the victims could save the precious lives.

Sri. S.R Nagaraja, Principal, PESIAMS, presided over the inauguration session while Mr. Somashekaraiah H.M, Principal of PES Public School was the chief guest of the valedictory and distributed the certificates for the students.

Shri Dharaneedra Dinakar, President of Indian Red Cross Blood Donation Committee, who had donated blood for over 90 times, was the other resource person. Shri G.P Nagesh, Coordinator of IQAC and other faculty members of the college were present on the occasion. Mr. Praveen B, Programme officer, Youth Red Cross Wing of PESIAMS welcomed the gathering. Kum. Raksha and team sang the Invocation. Kum. Lakshmi D.S proposed vote of thanks and Kum. Kavya anchored the programme. About 140 students from 12 different colleges participated in the workshop.
