Youth Red Cross Orientation Programme for First Year BBA, BCA, BCom students was held on 11-07-2018 at the PESIAMS Seminar Hall. The Programme was presided over by Dr. K Sailatha, Principal of PESIAMS, Shivamogga. Mr. Nagesh G P and Mr. Mohan D, Senior Faculty Members of PESIAMS were the resource persons for that programme. Mr. Nagaraja S.R., Former-principal of PESIAMS, was the special invitee for the programme.

Mr. Nagesh G P addressed the students about Red Cross Wing of the college. In his address he explained the importance of Red Cross Unit, its origin and man behind Red Cross Mr. Dunant Henri. Henri was the reason behind the establishment of red cross-committee of the international which is also known as ICRI in the year 1863 in Switzerland, Geneva.

The motive of celebrating the Red Cross day is to reduce and terminate the suffering situation among people and raise their dignity to the next level. It is celebrated worldwide by the Red Cross organizations to assist people keeping in mind the fundamental principles of the Red Cross organization such as Independence, Humanity, Impartiality, neutrality, universality, unity and voluntary.
