It is the paramount duty of the youth of today to get themselves quality education and develop a positive attitude in order to build a stronger India, said  His Excellency, Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka Shri.Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala, while inaugurating on 18th of December, 2018, Prerana Convention Hall, a mammoth and grand fully air conditioned, state of the art, multipurpose building situated at  the heart of PES campus, Sagar road, Shivamoga, that can accommodate 3000 people and can be utilized for conducting cultural, academic and social events. He further advised the youth to do away with the use of intoxicants, drugs and laziness which are the enemies of growth and opined that the country which gives greater importance to growth can only become a stronger country. Quoting the instance of India in sending satellite to Mars at a shorter span of time and expenditure than NASA, he inspired the students with the message of swamy Vivekananda of ‘Arise, Awake and stop not till the goal is reached’.

Shri, B.S Yeddyurappa, Former Chief Minister of Karnataka and presently the opposition leader of the Karnataka Assembly, who spoke on the occasion, advised the students to always remember their parents and their mother country after their education and to develop a strong mind in a healthy body by getting themselves trained in this world of gymnasium.

The chief guest of the inaugural function Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Present MP and Vice Chancellor of KLE University, Belagavi, who spoke on the occasion, praised the role of private educational institutions in providing quality education at reasonable cost which makes Bengaluru as the IT hub.

The Chairman of PES Trust, Shivamogga, and also the chairman of PES University, Bengaluru, Prof. M.R Doreswamy who presided over the inauguration said that building educational institution is more sacred than building temples and advised that the next short term goal of PES institutions is to emerge as autonomous bodies and to get the status of Shivamogga PES University and the necessity of working towards this aim.

Shri B.Y. Raghavendra, M.P from Karnataka and Managing trustee of PES Trust welcomed the dignitaries on the dais and other guests present on the occasion and traced the growth of PES Institutions from the year 2007.  The vote of thanks was rendered by Shri B.Y Vijayendra, Trustee and Treasurer of PES Trust. Smt. S.Y. Aruna Devi, Trustee of PES trust was also present on the dias.

The Principal of PES Engineering College Dr. Chaitanya Kumar H.V introduced His Excellency, the Governor of Karnataka to the audience and anchored the programme.

The programme started and ended with the singing of the National Anthem. The programme was well attended by the members of PES Trust, all the Principals, teaching and non teaching staff, students, parents and special invitees.
