Learning Soft skills the need of the hour for students

Getting equipped with soft skills along with good academic record is the need of the hour in today’s competitive job market, opined Shri Ramnarayan, Partner, Shreevatsa Private Limited, Shivamogga, while addressing the participants at the inauguration of State Level One day UG Fest Prerana Medhaavishkar – 2K19 on 01-02-2019, at PES Institute of Advanced Management Studies, Shivamogga. He further stressed on the need of the students familiarizing themselves with technological advancements and learning computer skills to make they employable. Quoting the example of Shri A.M Naik who joined L & T Company as a Junior Engineer and rising to the level of CEO of the company, he advised the students to show commitment and devotion to the organization where they serve and to follow ethics and morality.

Dr. R Nagaraja, Chief Coordinator Administration of PES Trust in his presidential remarks cautioned the students that past success is not a parameter for future success and that they have to develop good communication skills along with qualities like initiation, risk taking, organizational capabilities, decisiveness, leadership qualities and stress tolerance in order to climb the ladder of success.

Dr. G.M Sudharshan HOD of MBA department, Prof. S.R Nagaraja Coordinator M.Com, Smt. Roopa D.S, HOD of BCA department, teaching and non teaching staff and students were present on the occasion.

More than 26 teams from different colleges registered themselves for the events. The inauguration programme was well attended by participants and faculty of different colleges.

While Ms. Shyni and Ms. Prakruthi sang the invocation song, Ms. Joyline welcomed the gathering. Ms. Afiya proposed vote of thanks and Ms. Syed anchored the programme.
