Since the requirement of blood is much more than the availability of it the youth community should come forward to voluntarily donate blood said Dr. R. Nagaraja, CCA of PES Trust in his speech after inaugurating voluntary blood donation camp jointly organized by Red Cross Sanjeevini, Blood Bank, Shivamogga, voluntary Blood donors Association, Youth Red Cross Wing and NSS unit of PESIAMS. Speaking on the occasion he congratulated the associations which are working in this regard and praised the institution that has been regularly organising blood donation camp on this day every year. On this momentous occasion, he also administered oath to the students of the college on the occasion of Swatch Bharat drive of our beloved P.M Shri, Narendra Modi.

Dr. V.L.S Kumar, Honarary secretary of Bharat Red Cross Association who spoke on the occasion stressed the need for and greatness of blood donation. Mr. S.R Nagaraj, Principal of PESIAMS who presided over the function suggested that each donor can inspire and motivate another person to donate blood.

The coordinator of NSS Mr. D Mohan, Mr. Darshan Coordinator of Youth Red Cross Unit, Shri Dharaneendra Dinakar, Secretary of Voluntary Blood donors Association, teaching and non teaching staff of PESIAMS and students were also present on the occasion. A record number of more than 75 Units of blood was donated on the day. Apsha Tabassam welcomed the gathering, Anusha and Lavanya sang the invocation song and Amir Hassan proposed vote of thanks.
