In today’s competitive world it is inevitable for students to develop necessary academic skills in order to achieve success. Hard work and concentration are very important and necessary in order to have a bright future. If the clay used for making earthern pot gets mixed with water it gets dissolved in water and becomes useless. But a baked pot doesn’t get dissolved in water. Similarly youngster should develop good qualities right at the time of student life said, Dr. K.V Giridhar, Asst Professor of Dept. of MBA of Sahyadri Arts and Science College. He addressed the students as the chief guest on the occasion of college day celebrations wherein a felicitation programme had been arranged to honor the students who had secured university ranks during the academic year 2012-13.

Mrs. S.Y Arunadevi, Joint Secretary of PES Trust who presided over the programme congratulated the rank holders and advised the junior students to have the senior rank holders as their role models and imbibe their hard work and achievements. She further advised the students to completely utilize the golden opportunity that they get while they interact with various renounce persons invited on different occasions Mr. S.R Nagaraja, Principal of PESIAMS who was present on the occasion recounted the achievements of the college during the previous academic year.

The programme began with a Bharata Natyam recital by a student. After felicitating rank holders, students who secured distinction were given book coupons, Prizes were distributed to winners in various competitions conducted by the college. Students also showcased their talents by participating in various cultural events. Miss. Mithoshini rendered the prayer song, Kum Skandashree welcomed the gathering, and Collin D Souza proposed vote of thanks Miss Skandashree and Miss Sinchana anchored the programme.
