Objective:  

  • To understand where the potential water conflicts could occur globally.
  • To create an awareness about the conflicts in regional and global level for the natural resources.
  • To identify the necessary preconditions for sustainable conflict resolution and dispute settlement at all levels of resource management.
  • To reduces the stage fear in students and motivate them in giving good presentation.

Rule of this Activity:

  1. Forming a group and collecting valuable information about the given topic.
  2. Each group should not exceed the number 6 members.
  3. Each group is provided with 20 minutes of time.
  4. Given topic should consist of introduction, issues raising problems, regions or countries involved and best possible solution to the conflict.

Outcome:

Two teams of six students each actively involved themselves in this activity and showed their interest in the subject. It has motivated their minds towards the subject and helped them to put a view on the global issues. In the first topic, they given a valuable information related to south china sea conflicts involving various countries like China, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan, Australia and many more for the boundary related conflicts to acquire the regions of rich heritage of natural resources. In the second topic, information has been given on Cauvery issue which creates a conflict between two states in sharing water resources for agricultural, industrial and domestic purposes. Students who involved in case study, focused on the issues raising conflicts between individuals in regional as well as global level and mentioned their point of view in resolving these issues through proper management of resources using different conservation techniques and conflict resolution by respecting each country sovereignty.
