EEE Department of PESITM organised a talk session on “Recent Trends in Electric Vehicles”
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of PESITM collaborated with the Institution of Engineers (India) for an invited talk with Dr Gill Lacey, a distinguished Professor from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Teesside University, Middlesbrough, Tees Valley, UK, focusing on the prospects of electrical engineering in the era of electric vehicles on 9th May 2024 at the EEE Seminar Hall.
Dr. Gill Lacey, a distinguished Professor from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Teesside University, Middlesbrough, Tees Valley, UK, served as the resource person for the program. She brings notable expertise in Engineering and Digital Technologies and shared invaluable insights during the session.
The session primarily emphasised the burgeoning opportunities for electrical engineers in the rapidly evolving landscape of electric vehicles. Dr Gill Lacey engaged the 4th and 6th-semester students in an interactive discussion, highlighting the scope and significance of electrical engineering in this domain. Drawing from her extensive research experience, she shed light on topics such as battery management systems, the rationale behind the shift towards electric vehicles, and the current challenges faced by the industry.
The session was informative, engaging students with a deeper understanding of the subject and its practical implications. The event was coordinated by Dr Rudresh SJ, Associate Professor, EEE & Mr Kiran Kumar GR, Assistant Professor, EEE, and other faculty members participated in the discussion with their expertise and insights.
