The Department of Mechanical Engineering is organising a Five-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on โ€œFusion For Industry 4.0: Digital Transformation In Design & Manufacturingโ€ in association with Tech Mantra and Autodesk from 18th to 22nd August 2025. The objective of the program is to enhance faculty knowledge and skills in computer-aided design (CAD), simulation, and product development using Fusion 360 software.

The FDP was inaugurated on 18th August 2025 by Mr. Vijay Kumar Revankar, Director, Tech Mantra, and Mr. Ananth Kulkarni, Autodesk Certified Trainer, Tech Mantra, in the presence of Dr. D. R. Swamy, Principal, PESITM, Dr. R. Sekar, Vice Principal, PESITM, Shivamogga, Dr. Girisha L., Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Ashok R. Banagar, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Mr. Prasanna Nayak H., Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vijay Kumar Revankar, Director, Tech Mantra, said, โ€œOur major focus is to educate tier II cities on design to manufacturing through a five-day program, including detailed analysis of the entire process.โ€

Dr. D. R. Swamy, Principal, PESITM, emphasized, โ€œDigital design platforms like Fusion 360 play a vital role in fostering innovation, rapid prototyping, and industry-oriented learning. This knowledge must be transferred to students so that they are industry-ready. There is a great demand for mechanical engineers in terms of opportunities.โ€

The inaugural session has set a positive tone for the FDP, motivating participants to actively engage and upgrade their technical expertise in Fusion 360 applications over the five days.
