The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with the Career Development Centre, inaugurated “IgniteME – The Journey of Voice, Confidence and Leadership”, a three-day workshop on 12th March 2026.

The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Pooja K Gowda, Manager – Career Development Centre, PESITM; Mrs. Pratiksha Shenoy, Soft Skill Trainer, Career Development Centre, PESITM; and Mr. Maltesh Deshpande, Manager – Training & Placement, Career Development Centre, PESITM, in the presence of Dr. Girish L, Professor & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, PESITM; Dr. Ashok R Banagar, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering, PESITM; and Mr. Ajey C P, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering, PESITM.

The workshop aims to build students' confidence, communication skills, and leadership abilities.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Girish L, Professor & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, PESITM, motivated students by highlighting that the workshop is not only about igniting their potential as mechanical engineers but also about igniting their inner spirit to become confident professional leaders.

Day 1 – Discovering Voice & Team Confidence

Students participated in engaging activities such as Together We Rise – Building Teams & Choosing Leaders, 60 Seconds of You (Self-Introduction Challenge), Name Storm Champions, Group Storytelling – Voice of Teamwork, and Speak on Photo – Express Your Perspective.

Day 2 – Professional Confidence & Communication

Sessions will focus on Etiquette for Success and Engineered Confidence – Body Language & Non-Verbal Communication Skills.

Day 3 – Leadership Expression & Career Readiness

The final day will feature activities such as the Technical Voice Battle and Dream Pitch – Present Your Vision.
