PES Institute of Technology and Management (PESITM), under its AI Task Force Initiative, successfully organised a One-Day AI Capacity Building Programme for Shivamogga Zilla Panchayat Government Officials on 10th July 2026 at the PESITM campus.

The programme was designed to familiarize government officials with the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence, particularly Generative AI, and demonstrate its practical applications in office administration, documentation, presentations, data analysis, and decision-making.

The workshop included expert lectures with hands-on practical sessions, enabling participants to gain real-time experience using AI-powered tools to enhance workplace efficiency.

The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Sujatha K. R., Deputy Secretary (Administration), Shivamogga Zilla Panchayat, in the presence of Dr. Swamy D. R., Principal, PESITM; Dr. Nagaraja R., Registrar, PES Trust; Dr. R. Sekar, Vice Principal, PESITM; Dr. Likewin Thomas, Head, Department of AI & ML, PESITM; Dr. Arjun U., Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering; and Dr. Yojana Yadav, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering.

The programme was coordinated with the support of student coordinators Mr. Bhuvan, Mr. Rudresh, Mr. Raghvendra, and Ms. Shresha.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Nagaraja R., Registrar, PES Trust, said:"AI is for everyone, and it is now everywhere. AI is a digital asset, and we must learn its applications. It can assist in almost everything. Meaningful AI adoption can transform Rural Karnataka. AI is a tool to save time. This is just the beginning of your training and your exposure to AI tools. Start using AI from today, learn it well, and use it responsibly."

Smt. Sujatha K. R., Deputy Secretary (Administration), Shivamogga Zilla Panchayat, encouraged the participants by saying, "Use AI wisely to make your work easier, more efficient, and time-saving."

Dr. Swamy D. R., Principal, PESITM, emphasized the importance of AI skills, stating, "You should learn AI to be successful. AI tools will help you enhance your professional skills."
