A technical talk on "Remote sensing & GIS applications in Water Resources" was hosted by the Department of Civil Engineering for third and fifth semester students with the resource person Dr. Chandrakanth G, Professor, Department of Studies and Research Center in Applied Geology, Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta, Shimoga on 13th November 2024. More than 70 students participated in the event with Dr. Vinay Kumar, Head, Civil Engineering Department, and all teaching and non-teaching staff.

Dr. Chandrakanth G, Professor, Department of Studies and Research Center in Applied Geology, Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta, Shimoga, says, “ By highlighting the importance of the "Present scenario of water resources," "Types of data used in water resource management," and "Analysis of rainfall data, GroundWater Potential Zones, and other examples of using GIS tools.”
