The Department of Civil Engineering & Physics, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), PESITM, Shivamogga, organised the Annual Student Research Symposium on “Emerging Technologies in Engineering Research” on 28 August 2026.

The Resource Person,  Dr. Swamy D R, Principal, PESITM, highlighted the importance of undergraduate research.

With 21 teams participating, the symposium showcased innovative research addressing real-world challenges.

The Winners are Harshitha B M, Kevin Machado, Syeda Maimunnisa & Sujan Kumar, “Design of Traffic Signal at Lala Lajpat Rai Circle in Shivamogga City,” who secured first prize and were guided by Mrs. Yajnodbhavi H M, Assistant Professor, Computer Engineering.Mizba Taranum & Saniya Firdose“Intelligent AI-Driven Carbon Footprint Prediction and Reduction System for Sustainable Living,”  secured second prize, guided by  Dr. Arjun U, Professor & Head, Computer Engineering. Tilak Raghunandan G, Priyanka H R & Poornima P “AI-Based Multi-Biomarker Pregnancy Risk Prediction System” secured third prize, guided by Dr. Likewin Thomas, Professor & Head, AIML.
